ash wednesday buddha

Buddha holds a pear and sits, nestled between two potted plants.  A chain of yen has been tossed at his feet, and I drink my coffee, meditating in the miniature kitchen garden.


1.  /byuti/(byoo-tee) noun, plural -ties.

1.  the quality present in a thing or person that gives intense pleasure or deep satisfaction to the mind, whether arising from sensory manifestations (as shape, color, sound, etc.), a meaningful design or pattern, or something else (as a personality in which high spiritual qualities are manifest).

    How lovely. This is really a profound practice. I cannot imagine, ever, giving up beauty for nothingness. It cannot be the ultimate experience.
